Inuit Carved Soapstone Animal, in the manner of Andy Miki symbolic or other fruits of theI have a suspicion that this wonderful abstracted animal is a piece by Andy Miki (1918 1982), widely acclaimed carver from Arviat, NU renowned for his abstract, simplified animal sculptures a couple examples of which I've included at end of photos which are quite distinct from most other Inuit carvings. I can find no examples of his syllabic signature to compare this one to, but everything about it suggests his work to me in which case I am selling it
